Dubai, pronounced as "doo-by" is one of the city and emirate of United Arab Emirates. U.A.E. or United Arab Emirates are consist of seven emirates, Abu dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras al Khaimah, Umm al Qwain and Fujairah. Dubai is located south of the South Persian Gulf and on the Arabian Peninsula. Dubai has the largest population with the second largest land territory by area of all the emirates, after Abu Dhabi.
When to Visit Dubai
Dubai has a very hot humid climate. Summers in Dubai are extremely dry, hot and windy with the average temperature of 40 degrees during daytime and lowers around 30 degrees in the night. Winters are warm with an average high of 23 degrees and lowers around 14 degrees in the night. The best months to visit Dubai are from November to March.
Dubai is one of the most visited cities in the world and was ranked 8th as of 2007 and known for best shopping destination as well for ancient and modern attractions. Dubai is expected to accommodate over 15 million tourists from around the world by 2015.
As a shopping capital of the Middle East, Dubai has arranged two major shopping events Dubai Shopping Festival or DSF which held during the month February and Dubai Summer Surprises or DSS which held during the month of July. Aside from these major shopping events, malls and shops arrange huge discounts sales or promotions most of the time. You will just be surprised once you step in to the mall and you will see those big sale banners hanging from the ceiling! Even you missed these DSF or DSS, you will still enjoy your in Dubai especially shopping!
Dubai is also known as “the City of Gold” and Deira Gold Souk has nearly 250 gold retails shops. Dubai Duty Free offers merchandise catering to the multinational passengers using the Dubai International Airport.
Visa in Dubai is easy. There are nationalities that visa can be upon arrival at the airport. Other nationalities should secure the visa before or prior to arrival in Dubai. Some airlines especially UAE carriers can arrange tickets and offers visa to the passengers.
